Kapil Mishra is an Indian Politician and a former MLA from Karawal Nagar, Delhi. He is very Popular on Social Media. He was Minister of Water and Tourism in Arvind Kejriwal’s government. In 2019 he joined Bhartiya Janta Party.
Kapil Mishra was born on 13 November 1980 in Delhi, India in a Brahmin Hindu family. He completed his earlier education from Delhi thereafter he completed college from Delhi University. His father is Rameshwar Mishra who is a Social worker and Author. His mother’s name is Annapurna Mishra who was BJP councillor. He married to Pretty Mishra with whom he has two children. His father was one who protested against Common Wealth Game scams and wrote a book based on that scam named Common Vs Wealth.
Political Career :
Kapil Mishra contested the 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly election as the AAP candidate from Karawal Nagar constituency. He won the election and inducted as a water resource minister in Arvind Kejriwal cabinet. But he was removed from the ministry when he accused Arvind Kejriwal of taking 2 crore Rupees from his minister Satyendra Kumar Jain in 2017. He has complained to the anti-corruption bureau against Arvind Kejriwal and Satyendra Kumar Jain. In 2019 Loksabah election he shared the stage with BJP members. Later he joined Bhartiya Janta Party in presence of senior BJP leaders of Delhi Manoj Tiwari, Vijay Goel, Vijender Gupta and Satish Upadhyay. In 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly Election he has been given a ticket by Bhartiya Janta Party from Model Town.
As co-founder and coordinator of Youth for Justice, a New Delhi based youth action group that works on spontaneous issues that need cognizance, he has led the youth protest on various socio economic issues including Jessica Lal murder trial, issues of Farmers suicides in various parts of country, encroachment on Yamuna River and various other issues. He protested against the cases of corruption in Common wealth Games 2010, held in New Delhi and has written a pamphlet It’s Common v/s Wealth, highlighting the various scams and social and environmental concerns related with CWG 2010. He has also started a campaign to raise funds for the victims of the Delhi communal riots and their families, as well as those whose homes and businesses were damaged. Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga also helped in his fund raising initiative for riot victims.
