Karan Johar is an Indian film director, producer, actor and TV Personality who works in Hindi Films. He is casually alluded to as KJo. He is considered one of the successful film director and producer in India.

 

Karan Johar, was originally named as Rahul Kumar Johar. He was born on 25 May, 1972 in Mumbai, India.  He is the child of Hiroo Johar and the film producer Yash Johar, founder of Dharma Productions. His mother is the youngest sister of Late Yash Chopra. He completed his high school education from Greenlawns High School. He then attended the H.R. School of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. Karan Johar began his profession in the media industry from acting. In 1989, he performed the role of Shrikant in the Doordarshan Serial Indradhanush. In 1998, he directed the blockbuster sentimental film, Kuch Hota Hai, garnered him the Filmfare Awards for Best Screenplay, and Best Director. He directed the troupe shows Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001.

 

Karan Johar, furthermore directed Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna in 2006. In 2010, he directed film My Name Is Khan. For this film, he received his 2nd  Filmfare Award for Best Director. He runs a TV syndicated program, Koffee with Karan. He likewise hosts a show Calling Karan on the radio.
